For reading success, choose a method that works with and not against your child’s learning style.
I couldn’t wait to get a workbook phonics program to teach my oldest to read.
Dreams of blissful teaching times were quickly turned to nightmares.
My creating/thinking, picture learner was struggling and had lost her motivation to read! I immediately stopped doing what I WANTED and started doing what she NEEDED.
Keep in mind, there is no such thing as the perfect phonics program. Be prepared to tweak things as you go.
Visual Picture
learners need to visualize information. For the ‘m’ sound this program uses the key-word ‘mountains’.
When you think of 'mountains', it immediately reminds you of the formation of the letter 'm' as well as the ‘m’ sound. I wish I had this program to teach my oldest to read!
