The disappointed look on her
face tells the story. Another math lesson - a dismal failure.
As her confidence sinks, your frustration soars.
You want your child to succeed in school.
But is teaching your child difficult? Are you asking yourself...
What if homeschooling
wasn't right for us?
What if my child has a
learning disability?
Hello! I'm homeschooling mom and learning styles advocate, Jena Names.
Those opening paragraphs are a page from my homeschooling journal.
My oldest struggled in reading and math. She resisted writing and frequently reversed her letters. I was unsure of my ability to teach and worried that my daughter had a learning disability. I thought to myself "homeschooling shouldn't be this hard."
I gave my daughter the Learning Style Inventory (for ages 8-adult) from Learning-Success Institute. I changed her curriculum and my teaching methods based on her learning style.
The results were amazing! The fog lifted. She began reading easily and with enjoyment. Math made sense to her!
My daughter didn't have a learning problem. The curriculum I was using was actually keeping her from learning!
Implementing the results of the
learning styles inventory into my homeschool has allowed me to
create a
learning environment where I am confident in my
ability to teach and my daughter is confident in her ability to
learn.
Every child succeeds when learning according to their learning style. Think about this...
| Thank
you for recommending the learning styles inventory! My son was
struggling in math. I tried two different math programs and even made
up
my own. Still he was two grades behind. I learned that he is a
visual-picture learner and everything I was doing was wrong for his
learning style. I switched to Math-U-See and the Memory
Joggers multiplication story cards. What a difference! He actually gets it! He watches the Math-U-See DVD and dives right into the workbook all on his own. He learned his multiplication and division facts in just a month! It's such a relief for me to see my son learn math. Thank you! - Marie, CA |

| A
couple weeks ago, I,
my husband, and my daughter all took the learning style inventory, and
it was SO helpful. I knew we were all three extremely different but
couldn't quite figure out how. The results will be a big help in our homeschooling. Thanks for making the style inventory and all the curriculum information on your Web site available. - Jill |
Armed with the information from the learning style inventory you will know how to improve your child's learning, eliminate learning problems, and improve your child's self-esteem and confidence.
Don't put off your child's learning success another day. End the disappointment and frustration now. Don't settle for poor grades and a poor attitude towards learning.
Take it from me, it doesn't have to be that way.
