Charlotte Mason Homeschool Method The Charlotte Mason homeschooling philosophy can be best described using Charlotte's own words…

"Education is an atmosphere, a discipline, a life"
"Education is the science of relations."

Charlotte was a 19th century British educator that believed children were born whole persons and should be educated as such. Her motto for her students was "I am, I can, I ought, I will."

Her teaching methods were gentle and flexible. Mornings were reserved for academic subjects. Afternoons were spent outdoors, working on crafts, or pursuing personal interests. Children were encouraged to explore the world around them.
